Collins Aerospace
Mandy Dodd is a senior principal engineer with 17 years of experience working at Collins Aerospace.
Dodd grew up in a small town where STEM opportunities were rare and typically reserved for the more gifted students. Taking her passion for STEM alongside her experiences growing up, she champions several STEM programs meant to break any and every barrier that stands between a child and their exposure to science, technology, engineering and math.
Dodd has chaired the Students in STEM program for the last nine years and impacted over 870 eighth graders in that time. In 2023, Dodd became a co-founder for a new program called Community STEM Day. In just a few short years, this event has turned into a highlight of the community with over 2,500 participants attending last year.
Dodd showcases to students STEM activities that directly relate to the engineering fields hired within her community. Some of these activities give back to those in need, including building bicycles donated to the local bike library or building prosthetic hands for children who were born without one.
