Grant Wood AEA
Jen Kaiser is a speech language pathologist at Grant Wood Area Education Agency and has served all of her 27 years in the Cedar Rapids area. Currently, she supports Hiawatha Elementary, Share and Care Preschool and Xavier High School.
In her role as a speech language pathologist, Kaiser provides coaching, collaboration, evaluations and direct services for students with a wide variety of communication delays, ranging from speech sound delays to students who are non-speaking. Kaiser fosters a positive learning environment by establishing trusting relationships with her students and families. She believes that children make the most progress when they feel emotionally regulated, safe, connected and loved.
Her passion is to give every child a “voice,” whether that be increasing their spoken words, speech intelligibility, using gestures/signs or using low- and high-tech communication devices. Every child deserves a voice, a quality education and someone that believes in them.
Kaiser received her bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and her master’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa. In addition to working in schools, she values her time with her husband and three children.
