Megan R. Merritt is an attorney and senior vice president at Shuttleworth & Ingersoll, P.L.C. whose practice focuses on litigation.
Trying cases in both state and federal courts, Merritt works in the areas of personal injury, construction law, insurance law and contracts. She has represented a broad range of individuals and businesses, including small businesses, large corporations, insurance companies, construction companies and individuals.
Merritt credits her time on the University of Iowa College of Law’s mock trial team with her early success. To pay that forward, she coaches the College of Law’s competitive mock trial team as an adjunct professor. Since 2011, she has taken multiple teams to national competitions, some teams placing in the top 10 spots. Merritt focuses on helping students develop the skills necessary to function in a courtroom.
In her free time, she serves on the boards for The Freedom Festival and Theatre Cedar Rapids.
