The arts, social mobility for historically excluded groups and personal wholeness/wellness and education are just a few passion points for Keesha Burke Henderson, the director of diversity and international student success at Mount Mercy University. Leading several community conversations focused on social justice, she also founded One Woman Central, a nonprofit dedicated to woman empowerment and equity.

Song or singer: Bob Marley
Movie: I studied film, TV and radio. I’m a movie buff…too many to have just one!
Book or Author: My favorite author is Octavia E. Butler. My favorite book is “The Temple of My Familiar” by Alice Walker. I have a current favorite read, “Lead from the Outside” by Stacey Abrams.
Person: I am surrounded by what I consider a community of women that I continually draw on. I am so proud to be a part of this group — past and present — including my two grandmothers.
